F.A.Q.
Who?
I have a turntable and a nice record collection, mostly LP's from the 60's & early 70's.
What?
My aim is to make rare stuff (in glorious mono or sometimes stereo) publicly available again with the best possible sound quality.
Requests?
Generally, no. I select my projects very critically. Vinyl condition is everything. I tend not to work with records that are in less than pristine condition.
Donations?
Get outta here!
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteProf. Stoned. Thank you very much.

WOW! This may be the best day of my life. Thank you SO MUCH!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted this one for a while Prof! Thank you so much! You've done it again! You sir are tops with me!
ReplyDeleteForgot to give my thanks here. Yeah, this probably doesn't really offer anything as a sonic improvement, but it's pretty nice to listen to.
ReplyDelete"Between Clark and Hilldale" sounds pretty crisp and clean (even with the obvious phasing on the horns introduced by folding), and the reverb is easier to hear on a lot of tracks. Also has the benefit of centered drums (as per the nature of folddowns), as I wasn't a big fan of their side placement on the stereo.
Maybe not essential at all, but I'm still glad I heard it. Thanks for the supreme rip, prof.

ReplyDeleteThank you for making this available
ReplyDeletereally thanks prof. stoned Thank you very much for your work and for sharing
ReplyDeleteanother long sought gem! I have just about every permutation of the stereo mix, MFSL, RSD vinyl, the one I bought back in the 80s, etc etc...there was a two disc set I remember being too broke to buy at the time (late 90s? early aughts?) which I THINK had a mono mix, but i'm not sure about that. Anyway, it was probably horribly brickwalled in the loudness wars...now I KNOW i'm getting the version I need. Full stop.
ReplyDeletethanks again! this is GREAT fun!
I have dl'd several times over the last few days but it never worked for me. Can this be checked and...reupped? Thanks Prof.
ReplyDeleteAbout to get the deluxe refurbishment from Rhino...

This Mono LP sounds a trillion times better what they put on that 50th anniversary box set... Honestly that's what people are spending 100 dollars for. Everything else has been released. Even the book is the same as the 2008 version and the photos. But it is what it is. Like The Doors ... cash cows.
ReplyDeleteI agree wholehearteadly with ^, a breath of fresh air, many thanks, J.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your work.

ReplyDeleteBACK TO MONO
Thank you very much, prof.
ReplyDeleteI just bought an ADI-2 to add to my setup and during my google searching for a streamlined way to eventually begin re-digitizing my catalog as flawlessly as possible, this magical gift from god called profstoned dot com appeared in my search results. The first few albums I happened to notice were 'Forever Changes' 'Wonderwall Music' and 'Funhouse' all OP... Ngl I kinda almost teared up for a second. These are absolutely some of my favorite albums, captured in the most ideal format(next to the actual vinyl) with such choice equipment. I haven't looked through any others yet, saving that surprise for tomorrow. So damn excited to sit down and spend some time with three LP's tomorrow and even more excited to hopefully talk to you at some point. Thank you so, so much all of the hard work that's already went into this archive.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!!
