  4. Prof, Thank you for giving us the always amazing Ludwig cuts with "the Professor touch". As always, your versions becomes the "go to version" whenever I listen to Hendrix.

  5. The best part of waking up this morning was finding new posts by the inimitable Prof Stoned!!!

  6. By the way Prof, Love the photos of you copies of Rainbow Bridge, Hendrix In The West and Cry Of Love on your turntable !

  7. Thanks for posting these albums. Plenty of excellent music to enjoy on these. Not sure if you've heard of the Rock on Vinyl blog but there are vinyl transfers of Nine to the Universe and Band of Gypsys 2 on there both of which are also very enjoyable posthumous records. Thanks again for the great post!

  8. A mate of mine ripped the Ludwigs of two of these albums and they have been my go to listens of these albums. Having all four by the prof is wonderful upgrade. A big thanks for this.

  9. I have to admit that I never paid much attention to Hendrix's posthumous LPs. Thank you for the opportunity to correct that.

  10. I love the 2014 discs, wish they'd finished off with WH (and maybe even Loose Ends)! But I also adore these rips and will gladly redownload them!

  15. Great stuff. Many thanks.
These to me are the real Hendrix, being among the first I heard, before they were dismissed as inauthentic.

  16. Doing some amazing work here, Prof. Stoned! Your Band Of Gypsys rip has been my go-to for a long time.

  18. Thank you for the Hendrix rips. I've always enjoyed your shares on Twilight Zone and only now discovered that you have your own blog!

  19. Great post! Your transfers all sound really fantastic. I noticed that the CD-Quality version of Rainbow Bridge consisted of 24-Bit, 44.1 kHz files (I double checked with MediaInfo software). Do I need to down-convert from 24-bit to 16-bit before burning a CD-R? All the other albums seem to already be in 16/44 so Rainbow Bridge is the only one like that. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes, you can only burn AUDIO-CDR with an 16/44.1 audio file.

  21. Thanks from Bangkok, they sound lovely.

  22. Thank you so much, Professor! You are THE professor of Hi-Fi IMHO!!
I know you do not take requests but is there a chance that you add to these LPs the ''Loose Ends'' album? I know that it hasn't been released in US but there are European and Japanese editions. I thinks some tracks really deserve your ''treatment''. Primarily the whole B side (fantastic Burning Desire, phenomenal Born a Hoochie Koochie Man and beautiful Electric Ladyland) and A side also has some tracks that deserve your mono treatmen like Jam 292, Stars that Play with Laughing Sam's Dice and Drifter's Escape), please? Thanks a lot anyway!

  23. Thanks for the updated 16-bit files for Rainbow Bridge! Much appreciated.

  30. Thank you! Essential and exemplary work, as always, Prof! I notice the deadhendrix blog linked in your sidebar, but maybe this is the place to suggest people shoot over there to read the incredible-but-true stories behind these posthumous releases.

  31. First, may I please add a ntoe of appreciation for your FANTASTIC work on these albums.

Second, may I please, er, second the request for "Loose Ends"? It's not a great LP, but there are a couple of essential cuts on there which I'd truly love to hear via the magic of your needle.

    Thanks again Prof!!

  35. Thanks, Prof. Stoned.
    Great to have these!
I still have my War Heroes LP, bought as a cut-out in the seventies.
I always liked that album. "Izabella," for example, is a terrific track.
Reading the history of these over at the deadhendrix blog (in your links) made me want to listen to the other ones again.
Thanks again for all your work.
You make so many music lovers' lives better!
    Marc

  45. I'm really looking forward to these. All of your Hendrix releases have been very clean and have a very warm/smooth sound to them. Thank you again for all of your hard work.

  46. What a joy to listen to. Back in the day, we had lesser quality systems to play (mostly) excellent quality vinyl with, but now we have much better playback equipment with lesser quality "perfect sound forever" digital remasters that lose the music's magic in many instances. Thank you for connecting us with the best of both worlds - superb sound for our superb systems.

  47. Thank you Prof. Still digging your work.
