  8. Thanks for this. I just recently discovered the SF Sorrow album so I'm looking forward to hearing this. Speaking of SF Sorrow, I bought the Snapper release on CD that comes with the DVD Live at Abbey Road. It looks like it was also re-released in mono as well. Can anyone attest to the quality?

  21. I am so delighted you are back on the air, Prof!

You have had an effect on my ear with all the great stuff you've posted. I am definitely going to record my band's next album in two channel mono. So, don't think you are just dwelling in the past with all these old records, you are also changing the future! :D

    Thanks Again

  27. WOW! What an amazing show from one of my all time favorite bands. I think this show might feature Pete Tolson (RIP) on guitar? One of the great unsung guitar heroes, he's just killing it here. I really enjoyed this one. Thank you Professor!

  28. Nope, Dick Taylor is on this.

  31. This news hits hard. And I wish more flags were flying at half mast in the rock-oriented blogs of cyberspace. Thanks for this and "Emotions." Could you do the world a great favor as a memorial? Post "S.F. Sorrow" in mono. I compared your mono version of Pink Floyd's "Saucerful of Secrets: with the one released on Record Store Day in April 2019--and I found yours was better. You're got the ear for mono and understand its merits better than almost anyone. Again, thanks for all that you do.

  32. I would but the 1998/2003 cd Snapper sounds really close to the orig mono lp. I dont see the point of trying to compete with a tape sourced remaster that has no faults.

  33. That version is out of print, is it not? I think Snapper replaced the mono with the stereo, did they not? If they did, I shall try to track down a used copy of the 1998 issue. Thanks again.

  34. I bought mine in the late 90s so yeah it might be OOP.

  35. I have spent much of this quarantine day listening to your splendid mono mixes of Simon and Garfunkel, plus that anarchic first-edition mix of "Tomorrow Never Knows." I have always thought the same substitution process was at work between the first and second mono edition of "Sgt. Pepper," specifically with regard to "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds." Having learned in 1966 that British Beatles albums had 14 rather than 11 or 12 tracks, I sent for 'Pepper', hoping it would have extra songs. Although I ordered a stereo version, my London source sent a mono by mistake, which I kept, then ordered a stereo. 'Lucy' in mono was unquestionably superior to the stereo. Friends sent for the mono, but I couldn't help feeling as I listened to theirs that some of the psychedelic touches of my mono were less pronounced and noticeable. The mono was still, in everybody's opinion, better, but I felt my copy was more of an artist's proof than theirs. In any case, there is a anarchic mono mix of 'Lucy' in the 50th anniversary set that I swear is the version that was used for the first edition. Has time played tricks on me? Or am I having a true recovered memory? In any case, thanks for your work. Your mono "Saucerful of Secrets" is, to my ears, superior to the vinyl released on Record Store Day in 2019. Please continue your work.

  36. There was only ever one cutting (-1/-1) used for all 1967-1969 British mono pressings, so it was all in your mind.

  39. I had wandered so far I had forgotten my way back, Big Ups to that False Memory Foam for the thoughtful reminder. Your dedication is in a class of few, which does not include me.
