Who? Retired sound engineer who loves music from the 60's & early 70's.
What? My aim is to make rare stuff publicly available again with the best possible sound quality.
I routinely check this site out of habit. Boy am I glad I did today. You continue to amaze. Thank you for the continued effort and sharing all of this with us.
Thank you Prof Just this week I was complaining to a friend that there isn't a decent Stones BBC edition and now visiting here I come across this release. big!! I'm looking forward to downloading it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Prof
Well you've out done yourself again. Your "The Best Of The Beeb: 1963-70" from 2020 was excellent but you've just put the icing on the cake. I can finally retire the Invasion Unlimited & Ass Blaster boots. Thanks for, once again, showing us what real devotion to excellence is all about.
Thank you Prof. This makes my day. I can't wait to get stuck in and hear how some of these have scrubbed up, and there are definitely some in there that are new to me, which makes it even better.
v1.1: 19-04-2024 (Session #19 Tr 02-03 added, mastered from previously unknown source. These were previously included in the completist folder but now we can hear them with very acceptable sound. Thx M.!)
This is unheard material for me. I'm listening to the very first songs and they sound very good! Thank you for your hard work and for sharing it with us, Prof. Stoned!
v1.2: 04-05-2025 (Session #19 Tr 02-03 upgrade from *fantastic* previously unknown source, it is nearly as good as Tr 01 from that session, which is the only track from this session that has survived in the BBC archive. Tr. 02 misses the first 2 secs so these have been patched from the source used on v1.1. We thank The Johnny Kidd Fan Club & Hallucalation again for their tireless efforts in bringing these treasures to our living rooms. Also, sessions 1, 4 & 12 have been remastered due to slight dissatisfaction with my original efforts.)
Thank you! I love your quality work. You make a difference and are appreciated.
Do you know which pressing of "Out of Our Heads" (US first pressing - I can't figure it out) has the unique Bluesy mix of "Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man?" Not just a longer version but the rare different Blues mix that appears on some bootlegs but never officially released digitally. I heard ABKCO lost the original tape (destroyed). Thank you!
There's only one mix of that, the difference is unedited line on some releases ("I break my ass everyday"). ABCKO did mono remix in 1989 for first CD release of London Years though.
