What? My aim is to make rare stuff publicly available again with the best possible sound quality.
Prof., I'm still going to keep your 2010 version regardless. So are you finally coming clean that your source is a reissue LK 4786 from Spain circa 1976 ...hahaha ! Is it an orange label or blue label Decca ? Thanks for the bonus compilation of Bob Lugwig remasters and extra bonus proper version of "Got Live If You Want It !" Your 2010 version was amazing to begin with, which is why I'll keep in my collection, but I can't wait to hear your upgrade. Thanks for dazzling and surprising me once again ... make me wonder what you have up your sleeve ? ...Cheers !!!
I keep listening to "Stupid Girl" because from the organ intro and on you have gotten more natural life out of the grooves over your 2010 version ..Sweeeet!
Hi prof. Great work as always. For some reason the studio version of lady Jane is not downloading. The live version is fine though. Could you please check it is in the folder. Thanks a lot and as always your work is awesome.
The Ass Blasters "Could You Walk On The Water" release has a far better attempt at fixing the intro on "19th Nervous Breakdown". Maybe you should try to pinch theirs? I also think that your old rips of the "Flowers" tracks sound a lot better than these new official downloads, despite being off-speed. Not trying to be a dick - just pointing it out in case it helps.
Have not heard the ass blaster. Kindly send me link thru pm? As for the Flowers tracks, i dont agree. The export lp has tape dragging not heard on the remaster and lesser fidelity in general, imo. I suspect its 2 or 3 generations down.

I've just downloaded the Rolling Stones "Aftermath" release after being denied by Google for several days. For this, I've used freeware named "JDownloader". It is very good also for downloading from Mega.
Professor - many thanks for this and other releases!
i see a shelly mispress hot rocks among the sources.... might the alternate mixes of Wild Horses and Brown Sugar lurk somewhere in the Prof Stoned hard drives?
Just discovered your site recently - I'm not generally a mono/vinyl purist, but the sound on this is just fantastic -- crystal clear & muscular and right. Looking forward to checking out more of your offerings - thanks!
Hey Prof!!! Greetings from the left coast USA. I am listening to the 2020 Aftermath remaster for the first time this Sunday morning and my music room is filled with the crystal clear sounds of one of my favorite Stones albums. Yet another brilliant effort in your quest to provide music lovers with premium versions of classic recordings. Thank you once again!!! If I may with the expanded bonus cuts from the Aftermath + four from 2010 why My Girl from Flowers is not included this time. Its the only selection from your previous effort not included on this one.
Ah, you kept that source under your hat for a long time but I was 90% sure it was the Spanish LP. Glad I was able to find a copy about 10 years ago. Thanks for the great work.
Gaining a real appreciation for mono versions lately, and the skill and care you put into your hobby leads me to believe I won't be disappointed with this!
Thanks prof. I like real mono recordings

ReplyDeleteThank you for restoring the original first 2 songs. These were later replaced for no good reason from another show with a Long John Baldry intro.

@unknown: I tested by downloading and unpacking both rars, no problems I found. You should download again, make sure it's complete.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting an error that says the download has been disabled because of excessive attention.
