  5. Prof, This is a downright delightful compilation. What a great idea to isolate the early 'true stereo' Stones.
By the way, pardon my ignorance but who is this cat JWB? I've googled him and he is well known over at the Hoffman Forum but outside of you I've never run across his work.
Anyway, thanks again for this treat ... truly mighty!!

  10. Thanks so much for compiling this album and tweaking the audio. This version of "Have You Seen Your Mother" sounds especially fantastic. I had a stereo Through The Past Darkly LP some years back but I don't recall this song sounding anywhere as stereophonic as what you have here. The separation is really fantastic! I've played it three times already and it's practically like hearing a brand new song. Thanks for putting this together. Best, James

  11. The true stereo "Have You Seen Your Mother" is unreleased, as the notes indicate. The unreleased mixes here usually circulate in bad quality on youtube and elsewhere, despite these much better versions being available. It's nice to finally see them all in one place from master quality sources.

  14. I own the rare stereo released versions of some of the from the Hot Rocks CD issues years ago and to my old ears these sound even better. Thanks for all your hard work and efforts.

  16. Stick with the mono versions unless you can remix them with vocals centered etc.

  17. "Stick with the mono versions unless you can remix them with vocals centered etc."

Every song here has centered vocals. So what's your point?

  31. Without a doubt- you put the "established record companies" to shame with their inferior/and in some cases wrong speed remastered versions. This is Total dedication and a labour of Love. You are to be congratulated for such an incredible achievement and thank you for also providing 24bit and 16 bit versions as well, which saves the time in having to "dither" the 24bit files down to 16 (for those audio enthusiasts who listen on cd!)Thanks again

  32. Thank you for this. One song I have NEVER been able to find in STEREO is "CONGRATULATIONS". Which is one of my all time favorites. I wonder if they ever did it in stereo. Thanks again.

  33. Thank you, Professor. It's great to have these tracks in great quality.

I've been a fan of yours for years! I used to download your work on Demonoid several years ago. You're a legend!

We need a great copy of "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" uncensored from vinyl. The CD releases don't sound good at all.

"The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" uncensored was released on the first USA "Out of Our Heads" and the first USA "Satisfaction" single.

It was again rereleased in 1989 on "The Singles Collection: The London Years" but not on the subsequent rereleases.

It was also released on a "Satisfaction" single in Holland 1990 (London 882200-7).

The uncensored "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" clocks in at 3:19. It has a more Blues mix with extra harmonica and less guitar.

We need this rarity. Professor, we need YOU!

    Thank you,
    Gerard

  35. Hi Prof! Thank you very much for this fantastic (And absolutely essential) comp! I have two little questions about it if you don't mind:

Why did you separate the unreleased Chess recordings into two different parts, one where they go chronologically and one as bonuses at the end? Are the bonus ones lesser quality than the others?

Why didn't you include I've Been Loving You Too Long? It's in stereo on Fazed Cookies.

Just curious, of course! I hope you're well and I thank you very much again.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The answer to both would be: lesser quality. JWB has done a complete version recently. Its on guitars101.

  37. One other question; Which source would you reccomend for the correct stereo mix of Ruby Tuesday? The 02s have the wrong mix the way I understand it.

  38. Thanks for this collection. Great to hear in stereo.
