  2. Thanks a lot for this! Eager to listen this recordings with your treatment. From the notes it already looks very good. I'm sure it will be a most pleasant listening experience.

  3. Fantastic! that was the big thing we were hoping for!
the notes are indeed very interesting to read, and intriguing. Plus de DJ comments will make you teleport into the past just as if you took the Delorean from Back To The Future.
Any suggestion about the best way to split this set to burn it on audio CD ? (I want to use vintage-vinyl-like CDR) of course 1970 show and 1971 will be on a single CD; but I was wondering about the best way to assemble the early years - in chronological order of course.

  4. Thank you so much for that one.

  5. What can I say, thanks and thanks again good sir.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The best way is to start second CD with the "Gilmour years". I'm intrigued by the fact that the actual title of Murderistic Woman (the early Careful with that Axe, Eugene) is actually Murderotic Women.

  7. fascinating liner notes. Regarding the 8 multi-track recording of the epic, mythic 1971 performance, I wonder what sounds to be like a rehearsal (sound was somehow different especially with a few warmin'up during the intro) of One Of These Days (not the mono or stereo version) comes from a different mix from the 8-track recording/mix.

  32. This sounds great. Clean and smooth compared to earlier versions i remember. Drums and other transients seem punchier and vocals are more intelligible. Like other prof stoned demix-remixes the '70/'71 sessions have a nice analog feel - kinda like a well produced high quality late sixties/early seventies record.

  33. Thanks once again for your huge efforts to enhance great music.

  51. Hello Professor, thank you for the most excellent Pink Floyd. Regarding the 09-30-71 recording, "The Embryo" in stereo has slightly reduced fidelity having been obtained from an alternate (FM) source. Would it be possible to remix the mono source of "The Embryo" into stereo and obtain improved sound, similar to the other stereo tracks (minus "Blues")?

    ReplyDelete
  52. THANK YOU!!! So very nice to have all the BBC stuff in one place, and as discussed ad nauseum elsewhere, in best quality. MUCH appreciated! :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thanks a lot Professor!!!

  55. Another fantastic BBC Session from The Professor ... Hot Dog !!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Damn Professor, you have taken your game up yet another notch by applying the demix technology. I know I say thank you all of the time but the fact that you use your ever increasing sonic arsenal to take your already amazing remastering projects to another level says a lot about your personal work ethic. Thanks for letting us reap the benefits.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thank you so much to all the people involved :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thank you Prof! Always great to see new upgrades here.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thank you for your efforts, skills, and dedication!

    ReplyDelete
  60. The sound is warm and clear. Seperate elements seem to flow and intertwine, rather than becoming muddied in the mix. In all a very analogue listen via digital means. Superb. Essential. Beats any other sound mastering of these tracks by miles. I hope the prof turns his skills to Syd Barrett and his much maligned solo works. One can only dream.....

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thank you for this cornucopia of audio awesomeness!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Super cool! Thank you for all your hard work and generosity.

  63. This is the definitive version of Pink Floyd BBC Sessions! I've been waiting for so many years for an (decent) official release, and Prof Stoned has provided us a fantastic version, even better than what I would expect from an official release. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  64. BRAVO! I must own a half dozen versions of these tracks and your collection is the best sounding and most complete I've ever experienced! Makes all the other versions OBSOLETE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Incredible work sir, you have surpassed yourself with this set!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thanks so much, Prof! The BBC sessions by Pink Floyd are among my favorite recordings by them, and this is the best sound quality for them that I've experienced. Hopefully, some day, I wish that you will be able to get access to the better-quality tapes that are still in the hands of others so that you can perform your miraculous treatment to them and share them with the world. Kudos to you!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I've been searching for the best version of the BBC sessions and this just may be it. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Huge thanks for your excellent work on this essential collection. It puts the official compilers to shame!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I've been looking for a good sounding BBC Collection for many years and was very disappointed of the bad quality used for the Early Years box set of the early sessions as well as using the mono mix of the 1971 session, when there existed such an excellent stereo version. One of many flaws that could have been avoided in the Early Years box set (not to mention the missing Seabirds I was hoping to get in good quality at last!). What a dissappointment! And then: along comes the Professor! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I haven't liestened to this yet but I'm sure it will be amazing – as all your stuff I've heard so far is really fantastic. Mike F.

  84. Excellent work. A lot of work. This version is now the go to. Fine line with taking liberties. You haven't, and yet you've improved the quality considerably. Thank you. Floyd fans will be grateful for many years to come. You won't hear from most of them, but they will enjoy it more because of you. All the best.

  85. Brilliant all-round. Big Thanks for the love of Pink & Floyd.

  86. Wow, Prof. Outstanding work. I remember my first experience with the BBC stuff, courtesy a tape dub of an old boot LP taken from off-air broadcasts, with AM static and all (ie: Flaming. Do you remember that?). Of course we've had various new sources and upgrades, but your work gives new life to these amazing recordings. Thanks pal!

  100. Absolutely fantastic work! I know this stands to be the definitive remaster of these tracks, and I’m deeply grateful for your hard work and effort. The “Let Their Beeb More Light” set used to my go-to, but it looks like I won’t need that anymore! I deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication. And it’s fascinating to see you utilizing demix technology in your remasters. All the best! :D

All the tracks from session #4 have been slightly re-mastered for better consistency with the new material.)

  107. Prof., I was about to update the files from 1967-12-20 and then I saw that it was one file short compared to the previous version. There are 9 tracks from the original version that you uploaded. After track 4 - "Scream Thy Last Scream" there is track 5 - "John Peel". You're updated version has omitted track 5. Is this on purpose ?
