  2. Thank you profstoned. I enjoy your offerings and find them very educational and spot on as I am a musician who came of age in the 1960's and experienced that period first hand. appreciate your perseverance.

  3. Can't wait to dive into this! I have some of these tracks as dodgy sounding mp3's so I am looking forward to hearing them done right. Thank you!

  4. Thanks for this release. Clearly it is meant for real audiophiles who care about sound quality and not the schmucks on the Hoffman forum who are far more interested in bootlegs with audio sourced from youtube videos.

  5. Speaking of which, my posting privileges have been put on hold by GORT JERRY because I did some subtle advertising for the blog (and without having donated to trust-fund millionaire STeVE). I refuse to kiss his ring, so probably no more poating from me there.

    1. Sorry, just as well, then I suppose. It is a loss to the Forum.

  6. Yeah, they are already complaining about the post above yours. The gorts allow aggressive non-audiophile contrarians to run rampant and unchecked - and then immediately ban any knowlegdeable expert or industry professional who "knows too much". And every artist has at least one obnoxious person spreading total misinformation under the guise of an "expert" (the Hendrix guy with the dog avatar, for example), which ultimately benefits nobody but the record label, and these people never disappear despite plenty of complaints. The "fill out your equipment profile" thing was also a clever weapon for blocking opposing opinions unnoticed. It's clearly a sock-puppet website for the music industry.

  7. Somebody like Gordon's Johnson will always do whatever it takes to be in the good graces of the mods again, because he needs the platform badly to spew his delusional gibberish. Without it, he does not exist.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Unbelievably, there are fanzines and websites who regular publish Gordo's gibberish ramblings as exclusive articles, and it drives real Hendrix experts insane.

    1. J's comp was all Pre-FM transcriptions, but it opened the door for this version which is the whole enchilada. I would imagine it took some time to gather everything.

  18. Wow. I just renumbered the tracks for my own use so I could put them all in one folder and listen to it all chronologically if I choose -- it's 84 tracks of music and interviews, not counting the TV folder! Wow!

  22. Big fan of the Animals, thank you kindly. One question, who's playing the harmonica on 'Pretty Thing' Is it Alan Price? I'm thinking it's him because it sounds like he's mimicking an organ at times in the notes he's blowing. Heck, maybe it is an organ! Interesting playing nonetheless.

  23. Sour grapes on the Hoofy forum. Hilarious. First they have no interest in free downloads. Now they are downloading it, listening and desperately trying to rip it apart. Can you say "agenda"?

    1. Not sure what he is trying to point out. I think he's trying to say that the physical media contains stuff that the download doesn't and therefore CD beats download?

      Delete
    2. They don't care if this download contains completely new to circulation 1963 or 1964 stuff. They more care if shitty audio of unrelated NME gig wasn't included (which everyone who loves Animals had heard by now billions of times).

And now all references to blog is deleted. Hail Jerry!

  46. Thank you for this. I do appreciate your work. I got into the Animals at ten years old when I heard "House Of The Rising Sun" on the radio. Burdon's voice just blew me away. Then when I saw how he looked with the sunglasses, well; he was just TOO cool!

  47. We now have a 1964 BBC recording of their biggest hit!

I just discovered your site via a notice on the Zinhof Shoutbox. All I can say is WOW! Just grabbed the Traffic, Animals and Small Faces BBC comps. Have some of these tracks already, but not as complete as your comps. Looking forward to hearing these, browsing the rest of the site, and becoming a regular visitor. Thanks and Cheers to you, Prof!
