F.A.Q.
Who?
I have a turntable and a nice record collection, mostly LP's from the 60's & early 70's.
What?
My aim is to make rare stuff (in glorious mono or sometimes stereo) publicly available again with the best possible sound quality.
Requests?
Generally, no. I select my projects very critically. Vinyl condition is everything. I tend not to work with records that are in less than pristine condition.

ReplyDeleteA HUGE THANK YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely Magnificent! Finally its possible to hear the Stereo Mix with the dynamic of the Mono Mix!
I LOVE this album and its one of my top 3 of all time.
THANK YOU so very much!
Ben
Whats the actual source for this? Is it the original vinyl?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Read info file
DeleteThanks. Its such a pity you have used digital sources rather than analogue as this does significantly change the sound quality. But needs must. Great work. Thanks
DeleteYou are of course entitled to your opinion, but as a high-end dealer/collector of 2nd vinyl who sold many copies of this title, I strongly disagree. The original UK pressings of this album do not sound as good as the sources used here, not even on the best equipment. Furthermore, it's analog that demonstrably colors the sound, not the other way around. Digital is exact, for better or worse.
DeleteGeez, another vinyl vs digital nonsense talk. What's this remix really needs is rolled off high end and surface noise.
DeleteGreat stuff Prof, especially impressed with you managing to retrieve the drums from Apples and Oranges. Any plans to do anything similar with Vegetable Man and Scream Thy Last Scream?
ReplyDeleteNope sorry, but I did remaster the 2010 remixes of those. See elsewhere here.
DeleteArguably the best rock album of 1967 which is another way of saying best rock album of all-time. Can't wait to listen to this!
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your effort and sharing. Great Job. Your ears are really perfect. I appreciate the person who love music like you. You are the sun...
ReplyDeletethank you
ReplyDeleteAfter a late-night listening session over headphones, my excitement increased even more.....!!!
ReplyDeleteApples & Oranges: it sounds so different....so right....the drums and the bass carry the song now, and are not buried in the mix like on the original mono.
I've always liked the song, and I still like MoR lp mix....but your remix is the first time I heard the song and literally felt what Waters was saying, the song had potential but poor production.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Ben
Cheers Ben
DeleteThanks for another brilliant effort Prof! Eternally grateful for all your posts.
ReplyDeleteBradford Goodman

ReplyDeleteThank you, Professor!!
ReplyDeleteI’ll say it once, respectfully and hopefully: Are You Experienced stereo remix, pretty please with a cherry on top, whenever it may fit in your workflow. :prayer hands:

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to hear this! One of my favorite albums of all time. Thank you Prof.!
ReplyDeleteDanke Professor!
ReplyDeleteI am not an expert on the various sources and sound quality of this release. I have a few I have acquired or listened to over the years. This sounds tremendous. I think different is better in this case, but it's all IMO. Thanks so much for this and sharing all of your work through the years. I am glad you are still "at it"!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check it out. I personally think the mono mix as of this writing was the best version.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeletePiper now feels complete. I don't think it can sound any better after your treatment. Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks! I'll be listening to this a lot over the summer.
