  4. What a gift, allowing us to hear an all-timer like this LP from a slightly different pov. Thanks!

  7. Prof.,. Ever since you did a rip / remaster of Black Sabbath's Fontana "Evil Woman" single back in 2012 I was hoping that you'd somehow put you hand to Paranoid. Little did I anticipate such a thing as your Demix / Remix process back then.
Once again you have lifted the sonic veil off of what was hidden on the tape.
I went directly to the title track because nowhere is that "muffled" heavy handed bass ( I always guessed that the bass was recorded line direct throughout the session ... Nothing more horrible that relegating the bass as an afterthought in the recording process) more prevalent in obstructing everything else. It now has breathing and wiggle room for all of the other recorded elements to shine
I'm not a hardcore Sabbath fan but a few of their albums, such as "Paranoid" are important to me as well as others and worth the energy you've put into it .
    Thanks for yet another miracle.

    2. I tried my hand at demixing Wheels of Confusion from Vol 4 last year, but found the result not satisfactory. So, that's not happening.

  11. I hadn’t listen to this album for 40 years ( I am not very fond of that band), but it’s a very good job

  15. Prof, I forgot to mention that I think it's real cool how you reverted the ending of War Pigs back from the sped up ending that Rodger Bain & Tom Allom created to the speed of the rest of the recording. I'm sure the purist are flipping out but it wasn't originally intended anyway.

    1. It's much better, isn't it? I remember thinking when I first heard the quad LP 20 years ago, "there's nothing wrong with this ending, at all".

    2. I didn't even realize there was a Quadrophonic version... Cool insight.

  16. Far out. This sounds mean! When the wife goes out tomorrow, I'm going to crank this up.
I never heard it sound so defined, and didn't think it was possible.

  24. Never listened to this album from a good source, just accepted that it sounded a bit of the era and hence a bit flat sonically. Now this sounds good and what the material is worthy of! Very nice.

  25. Never satisfied with this before, as I have the 1996, 2009 and 2016 remasters. Thanks for this masterful work.

  26. Wow, it sounds really good, but still faithfull to the source. Thanks!

  29. I haven't listened to this album for over fifty years. I'm amazed by how much I'm enjoying it. It sounds fantastic - I can't compare it with any other version, and I know I don't have to. All the kickings this album got seem totally misplaced. Who cares if the lyrics are dumb? This isn't Paul Simon! They're sung from the gut, which is what matters. It's a surprisingly melodic and musical album - no atonal shrieking din - with more variety than I remember. And it's not depressing, another surprise, given the lyrics and its reputation as a downer album. Everyone's in tune and on the beat, and it's an effort not to air guitar. It's a freaking blast, forty-two minutes of monster freakery, and thank you for getting it to us with fresh ears, all these years later.

  33. You did a great job on this remix. Always thought the original mix was a bit flat/muddy. Sounds like a veil has been lifted. Brutal, menacing and powerful. Thank you.

  44. I see from the pictures included with this download that Bill Ward is playing a Ludwig Supraphonic snare drum. Which is a metal and very bright drum (and coincidentally, the most recorded snare drum in history, ANNNDDDD my favorite 😁). Pity you could never hear it until this mix! Turns out, there is an incredible snare drum on this recording. Thank you so very much for fixing this great record! I had no idea it could sound this wonderful. Much love from Mississippi ❤️

  45. I actually don't mind the sound of Paranoid on the Complete Studio Albums set, but this is definitely an upgrade. Thank you!

Do you think using the new Rhino Quadio blu-ray as a source a new remix improve the sound quality?
