Who? Retired sound engineer who loves music from the 60's & early 70's.
What? My aim is to make rare stuff publicly available again with the best possible sound quality.
Great pick, Professor! I can't wait to hear what you do with this one. The mix of the sbd has always sounded a little funky to me so I am certain this will be a big improvement. Cheers!
awesome, love this early electric period - the Newport performance is fantastic with Mike Bloomfield's snarling guitar so looking forward to checking out Robbie in the lead role in '65
Terrific choice! Haven't seen Dylan on here in years. I actually just listened to the rather horrific sounding Forest Hills show the other day and had this one queued up so a superior version is particularly welcome.
First of all, as a fan, THANK YOU, this sounds fabulous. Secondly, as a digitizer of radio shows with only a TEAC 4-track familiarity with mixing tracks, can you point me in the direction of any good online references so I may learn how to improve my transcriptions? (Thanks whether you can, can't, or won't, regardless.) :)
As always - super great sound and excellent pick! Thank you for all of your efforts - Still cranking The Who - Amsterdam - will rotate this in now - Thank you!!
Wow ... I did not see this coming. I thought that after The Who posting, you'd be too busy with your other duties to offer another gift ... I am speechless yet again.
This is excellent. I've used the same source in the past but without demixing, just a lot of EQ work and some multiband compression, and it was good, but no where near this good. Great work - I'd say this is definitive for the time being! Thank you.
This excellent music blog has done a review of your much appreciated work. Hope it brings a well deserved smile to your face. https://doomandgloomfromthetomb.tumblr.com/
Fantastic work! Would love to hear what you could do with other Dylan '65-66 shows with songs not on that last month (royal albert, etc) such as Positively 4th St from Australia. Also the Europe 1987 tour with Petty has no really great quality recordings, you could take some of the aud tapes and really make them shine- there are some real gems in there!
Thank you, Professor. Always in the mood for '60s Dylan. This recording sounds superb. Thank you for posting for all of us who can't anymore. I always look forward to your releases.
Prof, I've had this boot since it originally appeared. It was always a great performance, but the dull sound was a frustration. You've somehow managed to wipe away so many layers of sound "grime" that it sounds almost new! This is the definitive version of this historic show now!
Thanks so much Prof Stoned! Heard this show before, but it's never sounded so alive such as this. To have this in such good quality, it truly is a gift. The electric set is searing, this is the good stuff.
Thank You,This is epic ,even the B/W picks are something to behold. The stub reminds me to one day pull all of the ones I've saved over the decades and collage them. Thanks also for adding the touch of the contract ,very cool.
Few sites set such honest conditions as yours: no money involved, no visitor selection, and you even say you do it out of passion for music. Thank you for your work. It's excellent! You're a good person.
Can't wait to hear this! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, I've read about this show, but never heard it. Can't wait! Many thanks, as always, good Prof.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for this rare concert and your audio wizardry!
